Bookmarks - Backup and Restore on macOS

Instructions

Safari 

  1. To export launch Safari and click on File in the top tool bar

  2. Save the bookmarks file to a network drive or cloud location.

  3. To import repeat the steps but click Import and locate the file previously saved.

Firefox 

  1. Click on Bookmarks in the top toolbar and Show All Bookmarks

  2. Highlight the Bookmarks Tool Bar and click the icon in the top banner that has two vertical arrows pointing opposite directions and click Export Bookmarks to HTML and save the bookmarks file to a network drive or cloud location.

  3. To import repeat the steps but click Import and locate the file previously saved.

Chrome

  1. To export click on the ellipses (three dots stacked in the top right corner)

  2. Go to Bookmarks and then Bookmarks Manager 

  3. Click on the ellipses again in the top right corner of the blue banner 

  4. Export Bookmarks

  5. Save the bookmarks file to a network drive or cloud location.

  6. To import repeat the steps but click Import and locate the file previously saved.
