Phone | Physical Phone Voicemail Setup and Access

Physical phones should automatically sign in. Extensions are assigned to a specific phone via a MAC address.

Voicemails should be set up to go to an employee's email or a department email for department lines. If this is not set up for you, please contact technology.minneapolis.edu


Setting Up Voicemails

Note: Voicemails should appear as an email with an attachment in your College email. Double click the attachment and it will play using VLC media player.

If you delete the voicemail from your phone, UC Client or email it will remove it everywhere. 



First time setup for your own personal line

From you phone dial 6400 

Enter the default pin number 0000

Follow the voicemail prompts to record your name, a greeting and choose a personal pin number.

Checking voicemail from a department line

When you hear the musical tone and the message to play press # to enter the voicemail system

Press # when you hear the musical tone to enter the voicemail system

Enter your 4-digit phone extension

Enter the default pin number 0000

Follow the prompts and record the department name, a greeting and choose a personal pin number and share it with whomever is also going to be checking the voicemail.

Dial 612-659-6400

Press # when you hear the musical tone to enter the voicemail system
