Turn On/Off Conversations in Outlook

  1. In Outlook (the desktop client), click on View, located in the top middle left.

  2. Check or uncheck the box to turn on/off Show as Conversations
When conversations view is on, messages will have an arrow to left indicating a thread is attached and all emails in that thread will be grouped under the most recent message.

  3. If you have Conversations View on - choose Conversation Settings to make adjustments to how messages are displayed.
    Show Messages from other folders
Outlook will display sent stored in the Sent folder. These messages are an important part of the conversation but otherwise omitted from this view.

    Show Senders Above Subject
This option won't add much to the view if your Inbox displays one-line headers. If you're using multi-line headers, this option reverses the order of the From and Subject columns.

    Always Expand Conversations
Turning this on will automatically expand a conversation when the top message is selected.
