Print Services | Print from a campus computer

Go to File > Print option from the software you are using, or press Ctrl + P on your keyboard. This will bring up the print menu. From there, select the type of printer you need (MPLS_BW for black & white or MPLS_Color for Color) and the number of copies.

Print settings are by default double-sided. You may change this in the print dialog and may also select a staple location. After you’ve selected your preferred settings, submit your print job.

Once the job has been added to your print queue, you will need to stop by any printer on campus and release the print job using the touch screen control. Choose Release Jobs and you will see your print queue listed on the screen. You may select individual documents to print or simply press print all. A list of printers on campus can be found here: Printer Locations on campus

Note: Not all printers on campus are accessible to students.

Instructions on releasing print jobs from a campus printer

Students and employees may release their print jobs at any Marco device located on campus. A color print job will print as black and white on a black and white printer. And if you choose the MPLS_BW queue you can release the job from a color printer and it will only charge for the black and white copy.

If you print a black and white document using the MPLS_Color queue you will be charged for color.

Access the documents you want to print out from the card reader located next to each printer.

There are a couple different ways to access and release print jobs sent to the printer.

  • Swipe your Minneapolis College Student ID card

  • Login manually by entering your StarID and Password

  • Type in the 5-digit code (newer cards 6 digits) on the top right-hand corner on the backside of your Student ID card.  (Magstripe down)

Select the documents you wish to print then push Exit, or use the Print All option which automatically logs you out.

Your session will time out eventually even if you do not push exit.
Documents will remain in the print queue for 24 hours before being deleted from the system.

Printers will not print documents over 50 pages. You can select pages 1-49 and then 50-99 and so on.
