Checkout Equipment Information

IT has a variety of equipment available for checkout for Minneapolis College Employees.

Only Minneapolis College employees are allowed to sign the equipment checkout form. Please bring your photo ID for the Service Desk to verify your identity.

Reserving Equipment

Walk-ins are welcome but the Equipment Checkout form must be filled out. We no longer have a paper form. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance by submitting a Technology Support Request.
IT will confirm your reservation if the equipment is available.

When picking up equipment, please make sure items are picked up within 24 hours of the date requested, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled, and the equipment put back into circulation for reservations. 

Equipment can only be checked out for one week at a time.
Extensions may be approved one time only and depend on availability and other reservations.

If you would like to receive training on how to set up certain kinds of equipment, schedule a training session with Technology Support before the date the equipment is needed. Technology Support.

Items that ITS has available for checkout

10 Laptops
The checkout laptops have Microsoft Office on them, Adobe Reader and all the basics.
They are an X270 model and may not fit in your docking station. 
You must sign in to the laptop with your StarID and StarID password before taking it off campus.
When you are on campus and signed in with your StarID, you will be able to print from the laptop.

  • 2 Projectors
    These are portable and come with VGA hooks ups

  • A Six foot portable projector screen
    This is generally used for off campus events, if you are doing an event on campus, you can book a classroom with a projector or use a blank white wall with the portable projector. 

  • 3 Large tripods
    These are generally used to hold the webcams and video recorders for large rooms or groups.

  • 1 Mini tripod
    This is for close up recording.

  • 1 Small video camera (Yellow)
    Needs to be charged before use.
    Media is recorded to an SD card and comes with a USB cord to remove media directly to a computer. 
    Please delete media off the device before returning to IT.

  • 6 PowerPoint Presentation clicker remotes

  • 5 DVD players that connect via USB port

  • 4 HDMI to VGA cable - short

  • 2 VGA mini display port/thunder bolt (macOS adapter)

  • 6 web cams with built in speakers
    Mainly used with Skype for Business meetings and Adobe Connect/Zoom meetings.

  • 1 External mic for close range

  • 2 External Snowball mics, close range and long range (good for meetings)

  • 1 HDMI cable 14 ft
