Outlook | Mail Merge with a Shared Department Email

  1. Close Outlook and Open Control Panel from the start menu by searching Control Panel




  2. Open Mail (Microsoft Outlook)



  3. Click Show Profiles…

     

  4. Click Add…




  5. Name it whatever you like. Something you can remember. Click OK.




  6. Click Manual setups or additional server types




  7. Make sure Office 365 is selected and enter the shared mailbox you want to use for the mail merge. 




  8. Enter your starID@minnstate.edu and click Next.Your email address must have access to the shared mailbox for this to work.




  9. Enter your StarID password and click Sign in.




  10. It will take a moment to load, but you should see a screen that says “Congratulations!” Click Finish.




  11. Click the radio button for “Prompt for a profile to be used” and click OK.




  12. Open Outlook 2016.


  13. Select the shared mailbox from the drop-down box and click OK.




  14. It may take up to 15 minutes for messages to sync. Otherwise you’re all done!
