Setting up the OneDrive Sync Client on macOS

Note: For personal devices you will need to install OneDrive from the web or an app store. Campus machines will already have oneDrive installed.

Instructions

  1. Open OneDrive
    Click the Spotlight Search on the top right portion of the screen or use the keyboard shortcut Command ⌘ + Space Bar and search for OneDrive.


  2. Enter your Office 365 username.
    Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
    Employees: StarID@minnstate.edu




  3. Click on Work or School account




  4. Enter your StarID password




  5. Choose the folder location - it is recommended to leave it at the default. 




  6. Choose the folders you would like synced and click Next.
    Note: There is limited space on the hard drives of the machines. If you have more content in your OneDrive then the computer has space, you will not be able to view all your files and you will get an error message. 




  7. Open your OneDrive folder




  8. Your OneDrive folder can be accessed in Finder on the left side navigation
